James Diamond married Jane McEldowney in
Ireland. Probably from Maghera, Swatragh or
Granahan. They went to the US in 1826 and
settled in Kingston, NY. 3 children born in
Ireland - George, Alice & James. 4 children
born in US - Catherine, Hugh, Mary, & Jane.
Related in Muhollands, Kyles and Daleys. When
James came to the US he worked on the Dela-
ware & Hudson Canal & later went into the
hotel business in Rondout (Kingston) NY.
