A year ago I spent some time researching courthouse records in Fayette County, PA looking for info on Daniel S. Diamond aka Dimond, my GGGG Grandfather. I can't remember exactly where, but I remember seeing a Dominick Diamond in those records. The records spell Dimond with an "a" but the family has spelled it without the "a" for many years. Presume the "a" was added because these people signed with an "x" and someone else probably spelled the name as they thought it should be!?! My Daniel Diamond was in Fayette Co, PA in 1791, had land in Kentucky and W. Virginia prior to purchasing land in PA. Haven't been able to connect him to anyone, but estimate his birth about 1755. Could there be a connection to Dominick? Also, I think I remember seeing a Mathew Diamond married someone in Fayette County, PA. I think that was on a World Family Tree disk. Will see if I can find that. My Daniel S. Diamond had 4 daughters: Catherine, Jane, Elizabeth and Eve, and at least two sons: Henry (my line) and Daniel S., Jr. (Daniel S. Jr. died in Marion County, West Virginia. His wife, Susan Moser Diamond died in Fairmont, WV.) Henry had a son Daniel W. who had a son, Daniel W., Jr. Also Daniels in Cambria Co., PA who appear to be different family. Sure makes finding next generation back a problem. Would be interested in knowing if you think there is a connection between my line and the one your are researching. Thank you.
