My maternal grandfather was Morris Diamond, born 1885(?) in Bessarabia(?), sent to NYC 1895-1910(?)to avoid conscription into Russian army. Had relatives named Krotman in Boston and there met & married my grandmother, who was also related to Krotmans -- grandma was Elizabeth Kligerman of Kiev (Ukraine). Morris and Elizabeth Diamond lived in Philadelphia where my mom Edythe was born 1914. Then they lived in NYC where my uncle Meyer was born in 1919. Morris died in 1928 in NYC. There supposedly was a brother who went to Brazil who used name as Diamant(?). Don't know much about what Morris Diamond looked like, but tall and balack hair is probably true. Any possible connections?
