I think that my mother's mother, Rebecca Diamond Hutchieson, was a descendant of Reuben Diamond, though I haven's worked out the details yet. According to the 1850 U.S. Census of Covington County, Alabama, Reuben Diamond, age. 60, was a farmer born in N.C. (Does the number 300 beside his name indicate the size of his farm in acres?). His wife, Elizabeth Dixon(b. May 26, 1793), was a daughter of Jeremiah Dixon (b. 1764 in Pitt County, N.C.), who volunteered for service in the Revolution in 1778 and on August 10, 1785, married Elisabeth Goff (genealogical facts unknown--yet). Reuben and Elizabeth Diamond probably lived in or near the community of Fairfield, about ten or twelve miles west of Andalusia in Covington County, where a number of Diamonds still reside. Their children, according to the 1850 Census, included William, 25; John, 19; Margaret, 17; Tarisa (Clarissa?), 16; Reuben, 14; and Lucy, 11. The other two in your list, Elizabeth and Anna, do not appear in this Census; so perhaps they were born after 1850.

I hope that this information is accurate, and that it is useful to you. If you have any information on Reuben and Elizabeth Diamond's son John, I'd appreciate it. I have confusing information on him and his children and grandchildren and would appreciate any help you might give me in making sense of it.
