Thanks again! You have certainly given me some good information to work with. I did not know of Thomas Dial (1715 in NC). I'm actually working on my Thomason family but they are entwined with the Dial,Abercrombie,McMahan and Stoddard families so closely that I feel if I track those I will find my Thomason immigrant. Dial brothers and sisters married Thomason brothers and sisters. There are a number of double first cousins thrown in the mix. Because they seemed to travel together and often owned adjoining properties I find this encouraging.

Martin Thomason b/1804 m/Dicey Dial b/1809 dau. of Isaac and 'Gibson Dial
Martin's sister, Sarah Thomason b/1792 m/Isaac Dial
another sister,Christina 'Chrystie' Thomason b/1785
m/John Hastings Dial
The above were siblings of my great-great-great grandfather, Gideon Thomason b/1783 m/Elender Stuart. Gideon and 'Nellie' along with Martin Dial donated land for the Dial's church which had been meeting in Martin's cabin earlier. Gideon and Martin's land was adjoined in Laurens CO,SC..

I'll let you know what I find concerning lands owned by a Dial in Maryland and Virginia.

Thanks you for you help in this.
