I’ve been to the Dial Family Cemetery in Laurens County where Isabella May Hastings Dial, and at least one of her sons, Martin Dial and his wife Chrystie Abercrombie Dial, are buried. It is located about a quarter mile from Dials Methodist Church and Cemetery, in the woods near where Martin Dial’s home once stood, and where he first organized the Church in 1808.

Martin Dial’s grave has a Revolutionary War tombstone on it, and there is an iron fence surrounding it and one other grave, and there is a U.S. flag erected at the site. His is the only tombstone with markings so I’m unsure if the second grave inside the fence is his wife. I’m also not sure which of the other tombstones would be that of his mother, Isabella May Hastings Dial.

It’s been a few years since I’ve been to the cemetery, but to get to it, I drove down the road alongside Dials Methodist Church. There was a very small sign almost level with the curb giving direction on the left side of the road. I turned left onto a dirt road (or it could have been a driveway) and there was another small hand painted sign but much more visible on the left side of the dirt road stating “DIAL CEMETERY”. I parked and found the gravesites in the woods.

There is a cemetery at the Church, but these gravesites are not located at the present day Church.

I have no information on where Henry Arthur Dial is buried so I would greatly appreciate any information you can pass my way.

I hope this helps.
