Carolyn--

Thanks for your note. That you already had some of the info I sent you perhaps came from Gena, descended from Hiram. Kin to you?

I think my info is pretty sound. Dawson married Lucetta Curnett,in 1847 and Watson married her sister, Louisa Jane Curnitt. Both women were born in England. Lucetta stayed in family names: my aunt had this name.

Hiram's son, Stephen (Red)b.1832 married Mary Dial, his cousin by his uncle Stephen. The 1850 census has him at 18, working on his uncle Hiram's farm in Cooper County.

I can find no evidence that any of our line was born outside the US. Stephen was born in Missouri near modern city of Booneville. My father was born near nearby Nelson.

I hope that I did not garble the telling of this info. Let me know if you need clarification.

Perhaps I already told you, I am 78, born in Saline County, MIssouri, had a career as an English professor in several colleges and universities.

Bob
