Dear OLogan,

I don't remember if I ever answered you on this query. Anyway: David Dial had 8 children that I am aware of with Susan Elmira Jones. His census records appear in Franklin Co. (1840), TN, Decatur Co. (1850), Wayne Co. (1860), and Henderson Co. (1870). His father was James Dial, who moved from South Carolina to Franklin Co., TN and was present in the 1820-1860 censuses there. David's marriage to Susan was on 28 Apr 1839 in the Franklin Co. Marriage Records. James' father was Martin Dial about whom a book was written by Hastings Harrison. Susan Jones father and mother were Britton Jones (war of 1812) and Editha Hardcastle. Britton died in 1845 in Franklin Co. His father was Benjamin Jones d1815(he served in the Rev War in South Carolina) and Susannah. Edie's father and mother were Robert Hardcastle and Susannah Wilkerson. Edie's name was spelled Iudey in the 1870 census of Henderson Co. I can provide more details if you like. I did send a blurb into the Franklin Co., TN Heritage book with some details.

Let me know if I can help further.------Larry
