Dear Shawna,

There are no Puckett's listed in the Index for Hastings Harrison's book on the descendants of Martin Dial (b1744 d1844- in So. Car.)

It is possible that some Dial descendant of Martin married an Annie Puckett, but I can't get it out of the book. Many of his descendants did move to Arkansas, Missouri, and Texas, as well as all the more southerly states.

Another confusing possibility is that Annie might be a middle name that she preferred from her original given name.

Can you give me a time frame? It must have been after 1829 because Jefferson Co. wasn't formed until 1829. It didn't gain statehood until 1836.

You can get a lot of census information on the internet now without going to the big libraries and you can get access to them on computers at the LDS family history centers. Good luck-------Larry
