Christian Deyo was a French Huguenot who came to the United States in the 1600's and bought land from the Indians. His house still stands and is part of the Huguenot village in New Paltz, N.Y. There is a book on his descendants. A copy of it exists in the Allen Co. Public Library in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Some of the Deyos migrated to Michigan. My great-great grandmother, Ruth Deyo married Jackson Edgett in 1863 in Michigan.
