In the 1860 US NY, Tioga County, Town of Spencer census, there is Moses Deyo age 39 , (2nd??) wife Avaline (Eveline?) age 24, Charlotte age 11, Judson age 9, Charlie age 8, and Jane age 3. This
In the 1865 NYS census, Tioga County, Town of Candor, there is Moses Deyo, age 44, Eveline age 29, Charlotte age 15, Judson? age 13, Charles age 11, ??? age 7, and Mary E. age 3. This census also indicates that Moses was married 2X, Eveline 1X. Also, Moses is the father of 6 children, Eveline of 1 child.
In the 1870 census I can find little. Charles, 16, is working as a laborer in Caroline. Mary Eliza, age 8 (NOT 18, check the original) is living with the Downes family in Candor. What happened to the family? What is an 8 year old doing living away from the family?
My G-G-grandfather Clark Myron Robbins grew up to marry Mary Eliza Deyo. Clark's father, John E. Robbins is the last listing on the page that lists 8 year old Mary Eliza and Clark's name is on the next census page.
