One more note:
!PROBATE;James Dey;wd 1 May 1795, w.p. 24 May 1802; South Amboy, Middlesex, New Jersey;New Jersey Archives-Colonial Documents-Calendar of Wills; names "7 daughters", wife Margaret ,children Peter, William, John, Lydia, Dinah, Margaret (m. Henry Jensen), Mary (ch. William Higbee, Sarah Higbee, Margaret Higbee), Elizabeth (m. Henry Higbee), Catherine (m. David Craig), Sarah (m. John Hillyer), brother John Dey, inventory by John Embly, witnesses Peter Dey, David Dey, Daniel Dey, Samuel Applegate; photocopy of abstract from "Calendar of Wills 1801-1805", p. 129 (NJ Archives) in possession of Tom Robertshaw;
So, I deduce that, IF it is true that Catherine was married to Levi Kouwenhoven, and it was in 1776, and considering that Catherine died 1835, and Levi died 1837, and catherine married D. Craig in 1781, THEN Catherine and Kowenhoven must have been divorced. The only other explaantion is that the Catherine Dey who married Levi Kouwenhoven was a DIFFERENT Catherine Dey, and not the dau. of James and Margaret.
