Hi,I am researching my ancestors who came from aberdeen,scotland. my gggrandfather James Dey was born in Kinnethmont in 1836. He came to Somerset England in 1859 where he married Ellen hill. Their first child Gordon Lawrence was born in 1860 in Bridgewater Somerset . James occupation was, at that time a police officer. In 1881 they lived in Ystradyfodwg,Glamorgan ,in the house hold was James Dey his wife Ellen and their children Flora fanny Dey also born in Bridgewater in 1862, Annie leith Dey born 1864 in Aberdeen, Rose Ellen born 1866, Bridgewater.Wallace Dey born 1870 Newport, Monmouthshire,Willie Dey born1872 Newport.Lucy Dey born 1874 Newport.Emily Dey born Pentre Rhondda in 1877.Ivor Dey born 1880 in Pentre Rhondda. Collin Cambell Dey born Pentre Rhondda and Clifford Dey born 1882 in Ystradyfodwg. James occupation then, was a Commercial Traveller. All lived in the rhondda.If there is a connection somewhere i would love to hear from you. Regards Gordon Dey
