Pedigree;Charles Pitman Dey to his great-grandparents John Dey and Ann Longstreet;Treman Family History, p. 881; quoting a letter written by the wife of Charles Pitman Dey on 18 Feb 1902.

I have had some difficulties tracking your John W. Dey in the censuses. I think he was married forst to (unknown) and second to Eleanor, or Ellen M. Pittenger. And it seems that, yes, John W. Dey and Charles Pitmen Dey were brothers. Charles went to Beaufort, NC, where he was living in 1902 when the letter cited above was written.

From what I know, John W. Dey, 1815, was the son of Joseph B. Dey and Elizabeth Laird.
