Hello!

The Charlie you write about (b1908 in Hamilton, ON) was my grandfather.

The Dexter family were indeed shoemakers and owned a boot company in Leicestershire for many years. I have photos - I even have the only known photo of Alfred. I also have Emma's birth certificate.

Alfred died in 1927 in OH and Emma died in 1942 in Columbus.

If Alfred was your husband's great-grandfather, then your husband's mother or father would most definitely know my father. Please email me, I'd love to share my research and photos and hear about your research.
