Re: Jonathan Dexter and Alice Lowe. I found a statement in "The Dexter Story" by Persis D. Leger that "Jonathan [Dexter] wrote Genealogy notes, now in R.I. Historical Society." Leger did not continue Jonathan's line. I contacted the R.I. Hist. Society and got the following response: "We have a printed sheet in our files headed 'Dexter Genealogy. Family Record of Jonathan and Alce Dexter, from the original copy in the possession of Mrs. Stewart Merry, of Smithfield, RI' The document notes the birth dates of Jonathan and Alce, their marriage date, and the birth dates of 11 children." Unfortunately one has to go to the library in Providence to see this which I am not able to do.
They did give me the birth date for one daughter, Abigail, which is August 21, 1772. This negates my theory that this Abigail married David Brown(e) and had Edward Dexter Brown (b.1785) in Killingly, Ct. Abigail would have been only 13 years old. Guess I'm still looking for Abigail Dexter.
