Hi Gregory. I know you posted this message 2 years ago. So, I hope you don't mind my asking a question now. From my posting from 5 years ago, I had come up with a possible line from the line down to Marvin and Mary (ALLEN) DEXTER in Killingly, CT. Gregory DEXTER and Abigail FULLERTON to son Stephen DEXTER and Abigail WHIPPLE to son John DEXTER and Mary FIELD to son John DEXTER and Mary BROWNE to son Jonathan DEXTER and Alice LOWE to son Joseph DEXTER and Mary ALLEN to son Marvin DEXTER and Mary Ann ALLEN to son John DEXTER and Mary Anna CLARK to daughter Clara DEXTER, who married Abner YOUNG I was wondering if it is correct. Since it is only an "educated guess" that Mrs. Clara YOUNG, was the birth-mother of my grandmother (without benefit of her husband), then I don't research the DEXTER's back in RI very often. Betty (near Lowell, MA) FYI: John and Mary DEXTER left Killingly, CT, around 1886 to move to Melrose, MA. While living there they adopted a little girl. I don't know when they took the girl in, but they adopted her in Mar. 1892. The little girl grew up to become my grandmoter. She was re-orphaned in 1899, upon Mrs. DEXTER's death. I believe that Clara had an "unwanted pregnancy" in the summer of 1888, and she arranged for the baby to be born in Boston and become a "foundling." (John and Mary had 2 other daughters, but one died at Age 2 and one died at Age 14; they had no sons.) Notify Administrator about this message?
