My husbands grandfather was adopted by Samuel Bennet Dexter, son of Samuel and Alyna Dexter of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. They were the keepers of the county poorhouse infermary where his mother Maggie Orin died a widow at age 24. We are looking for other childrens decendant. From the widows pension records I got, she lists no children, yet on a different page petitions the county to keep the job after her husbands death stating that he daughters and she would keep the job up.
He had a brother John who was a dentist, and a sister Mary-Ann who was a teacher. This is all we really know about my husbands grandfather Vernon Orin Dexters family. He didn't speak of them.
