Due to the death date of Cornelius Fransz (1622) is would appear the correct lineage to Fransz (1516-1564) goes through Jan and NOT Cornelius Fransz. It also appears Jan and Cornelius were almost certainly brothers. The parents of Fransz were Cornelius DeWitt and Beatrix Slingeland. For those interested in the lineage of Beatrix Slingeland, her ancestry can be easily traced and documented to Charlemagne, Alfred the Great, Count Dirk III of Holland, etc. Dewitt cousins may want to check it out and have some fun in doing so...
