I'm looking for the parents of John DEWITT (b 1760-1765) of Westmoreland Co, PA. He married Nancy CULBERTSON c1790 and moved to Jackson County, WV in about 1807 where he died 14 Jan 1820. Their children are: Margaret, Thomas, John, Martha, Nancy Elizabeth, Alexander, Lydia, Charlotte, and Phoebe. I've been told that his father could be Johannes DEWITT bt 25 Dec 1735 in Kingston, NY (which would link him to the infamous Tjerke Claessen DEWITT) but I think it's just wishful thinking as I've found nothing to indicate that this is so. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
