I have a Wm Dewhirst born 22 Sep 1842 Woodslee, Essex County, Ontario; son of
Charles George Dewhirst b 13 Nov 1818 Doncaster, Yorkshire, England, married 24 Jul 1841 in Wayne Co. Michigan, Julia Ann Metay b. 1 Mar 1820 Woodslee, Essex Co. Ont.

Charles George Dewhirst was the son of George F. Dewhirst born 6 Feb 1789 probably in Epworth, Lincolnshire, England and Alice Goodwin, married about 1809 in England. George died 14 Oct 1858 in Maidstone, Essex Co Ont. and is buried in Windsor, Ontario.

George F. Dewhirst was the son of James Dewhirst who was buried 31 May 1796 in Epworth, Lincolnshire. His wife was "Nanney."

I'll help if I can. If you are descended from Julia Ann Metay, you have a long, interesting French Canadian line also.

Notice my new address

This is my version. I have a copy of another version in which William Dewhirst born 1842 Canada is the son of George Henry Dewhirst and Judith Bruner.

These were all very large families and there could have been two George's born in 1842.
