The Elizabeth DeWalt I would be interested in was born in
Bath Township, Virginia, in 1777. She died in 1846 and is buried in Mason County, Illinois (Saidora).
The actual dates taken from her tombstone are 18 March 1777 and 1 Feb 1846. A photo of the tombstone is available.
I also have a photo of a different Elizabeth DeWalt's tombstone. Don't have much information on that one but I don't believe it was taken in Illinois.
My Elizabeth DeWalt (Mason County, Ill.) was the wife of Henry DeWalt Sr, father of Henry DeWalt Jr who married
(1)Nancy Dew AND (2) Helen Hardin.
Henry Jr and Nancy were the parents of my g grandmother Hannah Samantha DeWalt + James Monroe Barbee.
Henry Sr and Elizabeth is as far as I have gone with my DeWalt research. I have them married in Virginia and their first two children born there. The rest were born in Ohio, Henry Jr. being the last born in 1816. They then moved to Illinois where my Hannah Samantha was born. After Nancy died and Henry Jr remarried, he moved his family to Newton County, Missouri.
Ohio county names have changed at times during my DeWalt's stay there. I believe what was once Wayne County became Holmes County. My resarch covered both counties but the same areas.
