Hello Viola,
Here is the wedding of Jelle Hendriks (who took de Vries as a surname in 1811) and Rimke Bockes
Trouwregister Hervormde gemeente Oudemirdum-Nijemirdum-Sondel
DTB nr. 299, 1709 - 1810
Vermelding: Bevestiging huwelijk van 6 december 1789, Sondel
Man: Jelle Hendriks, Sondel
Vrouw: Rimke Bokkes, Sondel
So they were married in the Dutch Reformed Church in Sondel (it also served Oudemirdum and Nijmirdum) in Gaasterland, Friesland. My grandfather came from Oudemirdum and my grandmother from Nijmirdum.
Have also been looking at Lucy Nymeyer's sister, Sarah and her marriage to Jelle Meinesz to determine (if I can) who his parents were.
I have lots of cousins who originally came through Elkhart in 1853 and 1854, but I don't know of any direct connection to the Nijmeyer family.
