Hi Duane!
My Gt.-Gt.Grandmother still used the spelling DESVAUX when she passed away. Her tombstone gives her name as Aglie V. Desvaux 1827-1908. At least in my branch of the family the spelling was never changed. Sorry I'm not much help.
