I am working on the descendants of William Taylor (on my website, www.popenoe.com). His son Benjamin who lived in Yorktown or Peekskill, NY, had a daughter, given name unknown, born probably about 1773, who married a Mr. Devoe, given name unknown. I suggest he might have been a grandson of Johannes Devoe who married Hester See at the Old Dutch Church in Sleepy Hollow in 1723 but that is just a wild guess. If any of you researchers have run across a Devoe/DeVaux who married a Taylor girl in that area around the end of the 18th Century, I would be pleased to hear of it.
