My 3rd great grandfather, Thomas Devlin, was born in Ireland approx. 1803 and emigrated from Ireland to Ottawa, Canada sometime before 1831. He married Ellen Dugnon, born in Ireland approx. 1804. I do not know if they married in Ireland or Canada.
By 1846, they had moved to Carbondale, Pennsylvania, USA; later moving to Jenkins Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania where they stayed.
Several children were born in Canada. Here is the information on their children:
>THOMAS DEVLIN, b. December 24, 1831, Ottawa, Canada; d. February 12, 1921, Jenkins Twp., PA.
>JAMES DEVLIN, b. 1841, Canada.
>ELLEN DEVLIN, b. 1843, Canada.
>MARY DEVLIN, b. 1846, Pennsylvania.
>CATHERINE DEVLIN, b. 1849, Pennsylvania.
>BRIDGET DEVLIN, b. 1855, Pennsylvania.
I am hoping to find other Devlins they were connected with. I have not checked Canadian records yet, just confirmed Ottawa today.
