Hello Noreen,

How lucky you are to be able to link up your forebears to a family of Devlins in Ulster.
So far I have been unable to find where my family came from. No, I don't know Bernadette personally. I first heard of her when she was successfully campaigning to become a Member of Parliament. This was headline news throughout the UK. That was many years ago now, but I have noticed any mention of her in the news, because she was born a Devlin, and so was I.
I don't think it is correct to say that she was leader of the IRA.
Her views were strong, but she was an elected MP, and as such represented the views of a majority vote in a democratic election.

I wish you every success in your family history research,

June
