Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Shannon,

I'll still be getting back to you via e-mail. I just returned from Ireland and have been fairly busy updating records.
In the mean time you should check out
http://www.origins.net/GRO/
This is the web site for the Sottish GRO. It's a pay site but very much worth the money. I have used it in the past. If Hugh was born in Edinburgh, his birth will be registered with the Scottish GRO. Make sure you read the directions on how to conduct a search before you begin. If his birth is registered, you will get both his parents' names and the townland in which they reside in Ireland. Good Luck
Dan
