Jeremy

I am a Devlin originally from Co Armagh, near Portadown. My grandfather was Laurence Devlin (d 1950s) and the Devlin family I am from is closely connected with the Vallely family from the same area. The Jim Devlin to whom you refer is possibly of the Protestant faith, as there are both Catholic and Protestant Devlins in the north County Armagh area. My grandfathers brothers were called Felix and Dominic (Dom)(d 1967 & 1970)and it is possible that they are connected to the Portadown Devlin family. I was also interested that the Belfast Devlin to whom you refer (where I now live) was descended from a Felix and Mary Devlin - the same name as my parents!

Reagrds

Joe Devlin
