Cathy, please tell me more about your Hugh. The fact that you have a connection with a Dougan strikes me as more than coincidental.

Garnet is the one who originally filled me in on our common Devlin ancestors, and the account he references mentions that one of the Devlin daughters married a Dougan/Duggan. I have no more information on this union. It would not surprise me, if this branch was one that had been removed from the rest of the family, if something got garbled in the history. Please tell me as much as you can about your Hugh and Bridget. An important consideration: all of the Devlins in the family group that Garnet and I are following appear to have been Protestant, mostly Methodist. What was the religion of your Hugh?
