Joan! Did you know that the state of NY conducted a five-year census during the time you are interested in. I do not know if the census returns for Ulster County and Esopus still exist, but my people (mother's side) are nicely recorded from 1850 to 1920 every five years. Try writing to the local historical society or the county court house to see if they can help. good luck. Frank Devlin
