Ms. Rezabek. Have a book of short stories & essays by Anna Devlin. Name of book is Weeds and Wildflowers. Published in New York in 1859 and dedicated to a Mrs W.H. Gatzmer. In the preface the author states that two of the stories first appeared in a Philadelphia paper. Any connection?
