Thanks Craig for a bit more info. I do not think that William and miss Lewthwaite were married.
On my fathers birth certificate, is said father William Devlin, EX Gunner in Royal Field Artillery. I was thinking if my father was born in 1919, my Grandfather must have been around 20 years old? or older.
My father served in the Army in the second world War, in his will he left everything to his mother she must have married, and now was called Mrs Sarah Jane Cranmer, 37, Church Street, Bradford, Yorkshire, this will was made out in 1941, before he served in the Far East.
Father allways told me that his family came from County Tyrone, NI. I think because his father left him and his sister at a young age, father did not realy know too much about him, his Grandmother who brought hin and his sister up told them a bit about the family.

I would like to find out where my greatgrandmother came from and her maiden name.
Do you live in the UK Craig, or abroad.
