Megan I can’t be of any specific help but I can give you some pointers.

The Devlin family history has been chronicled in the following 50’s publication -
THE STORY OF AN IRISH SEPT – THE O’DEVLINS OF TYRONE
BY CHUBB DEVLIN Ph.D.
Published by the author at
7017, McCallum St, Philadelphia 19, Pa.
(there were three editions)
You may be able to track his descendants down through his academic records (he must have been an academic) or through the address.

The Methodist minister in Moy may be able to help if not through Devlin, then through Beattie / Beatty, which is almost always a Protestant name.
If you want to write to local newspapers you could try
THE TYRONE COURIER, SCOTCH ST DUNGANNON FAX + 01868 726171
OBSERVER NEWSPAPERS IRISH ST DUNGANNON TEL + 01868 22557
TYRONE TIMES SCOTCH ST DUNGANNON

I know of two authorities on the Devlins
Dr Devlin of St Patrick’s College Maynooth or Maynooth University in the Republic of Ireland
Dr Dermot Devlin of Irish Studies Dept (I think) University of Ulster, Coleraine N Ireland
You will have to try and look them up via the WWW or via postal mail

Finally I will look into the issue of Protestant (Methodist) Devlins and let you know if anything new
