My Devlins are also Protestant (Wesleyan Methodists, mostly) and settled in southern Ontario in the first half of the 1800s. There are a couple of Thomases that I know of, but one died in infancy and the other died, I believe, childless and is buried in British Columbia. There is a branch of the family, children of the longer-lived Thomas's elder brother William, that moved out to the prairie provinces of Canada (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta) and it is possible that some in the next generation went south across the border. What else do you know of the family that was in Renfrew County? That is a little removed from where my Devlins lived (mine were more north and southwest of Toronto) but there might be a connection.
