Hi,
I'm looking into my great-great grandfather Patrick Devlin who was born in 1834 in (County Louth?) and died in 1877 in Killencoole, County Louth Ireland. His son, Michael, later came to the Boston area.
A few years ago, before my father passed, he was able to obtain the marriage certificate of Patrick from the Parish in Darver, Louth. However, on the certificate there is no father listed (his wife had her father listed, however).
Has anyone come across something like this? I'm relatively new at all of this. Does anyone have a suggestion about what I could do? I don't think my father was able to find Patricks baptism records.
Any help is appreciated.
