Devlin family in USA from Lanarkshire
I am trying to find the families of 2 of my great uncles who emigrated to the USA in 1910.
John Devlin (23 years old)arrived New York on July 03 and James (21) arrived 6 weeks later on August 29th 1910. Both emigrated from Newmains, Lanarkshire, Scotland although John was born in Glasgow and James born in Calder, Lanarkshire before moving with their family to Newmains. Both travelled on the SS California but on different dates. (Incidently, the SS California was the last ship to send a warning to the Titanic. She was within 10 miles of the disaster but her radio operator had gone to bed at midnight. This was the trigger that forced 24hour observation by Radio operators. Then in 1917, it was torpedoed by a German U-Boat and sank off the coast of Ireland) - Back to the family now. John and James left parents John Devlin and Helen-Jane Keegan (Ellen-Jane)and 10 younger siblings behind. 1-George (My Grandfather). 2-Peter. 3-Patrick. 4-Thomas. 5-Michael. 6-Elizabeth. 7-Andrew. 8-Mary. 9-Charles. 10-William.
During my reseach, I have discovered that up until recently, some of their descendants still lived in Trenton, New Jersey.
If anyone has any information regarding these Devlin 'exiles' AND their descedant families, I would greatly appreciate hearing from them. They are a big part of my family tree and it would be great to add them.
