Back in Jan 2000 Bill Devlin listed Christopher Devlin as grandfather to Art Rooney, Sr. I'm afraid that's not EXACTLY correct. Chris was grandfather to Art's wife, Kathleen.
The Devlins are part of my wife's family. My wife, Beatrice (Hughes) Rebstock's mother was Sarah (Devlin) Hughes. Sarah was sister to Katherine (Devlin) McNulty. Katherine's daughter, Kathleen (McNulty) Rooney was married to Art Rooney.
Sarah and Katherine's father was Christopher James Devlin, and thus was Art's grandfather-in-law.
Christopher James Devlin (Ruther Glenn, Scotland) was married to Bridget Hendry (County Derry, Ireland). in 1879. Mary (1878) and Sarah (1880) were born in Glasgow. Sarah was about 3 when they came over. (about 1883) I have photos of Chris and Bridget.
Sarah often mentioned Devlins in Lonaconing, MD but I have no info on them.
In May 2000 Bill Devlin was looking for relatives of Robert G. Devlin.
James Cormack Devlin (Youngest child of Christopher and Bridget) was married to Edna Irene Kentlein. Their children were Christopher James (his company wired the new Rankin Bridge shortly after WWII), Robert George (known as "Bobby"), and Ruth Alice (who went by "Ruthie")
I know I'm referring to very old postings on Genealogy.com but I just recently joined-up. I'm trying to find people who can help with my Tree and, perhaps, I can help them with info, and photos I have.
