Seeking info on parents of JAMES S. (possibly Sylvester) DEVLIN.

JAMES born 16 Jun 1820 in Tyrone or Londonderry, Ireland. He worked as mining & civil engineer for British government under Queen Victoria, constructing railway system of Ireland 1842-1844.

JAMES came to US via Canada ca 1844. Settled in Pittsburgh, Alleghany Co, PA 1848/49. Married a widow, JOHANNA WALSH CAHILL, May 1849 at Pittsburgh. Johanna was daughter of Thomas Walsh & Mary Duff. JAMES & JOHANNA had at least 10 children. Am descended through their daughter FRANCES (Fannie) who married CHARLES E. FLYNN.

JAMES died 8 Mar 1894 at Pittsburgh. JOHANNA died 5 Jul 1906 at Pittsburgh.

Will share info on descendents of JAMES & JOHANNA with interested parties. Need to identify parents of JAMES S. DEVLIN. Anyone else researching this line?

M Murdock, San Antonio, TX
