Dear Peter,
I was kind of bored and a little bit curious about my past. I am the first of the DeVitos from my line not to be born in New York. I was born in Ohio, but before me they all lived in New York. I was told by my father William DeVito that they came from Italy around the turn of the century and that they settled in the Bronx. My grandfather's name was Vito DeVito. I found your response interesting because you said that there were many cousins and uncles that lived in the Bronx and Queens. I don't know if this will tell you anything, but I just felt compelled to let you know.
Andrew DeVito
