Kathryn Thank you for your e-mail with more DeVito information. There are only two names there that I recognize-my father told me about a brother who had passed away named Vincent/ Of course my own fathers name is Guiseppe(Joseph)however, see that he's listed as being 13.It's difficult to say, but the others listed ring no bells. Here's the way I was told about our family- Serafina DeVito(grandmother) Pio DeVito(grandfather) Guiseppe(Joseph)Devito(father) Anthony DeVito(uncle) Theresa DeVito(aunt) Theresa DeVito(great grandmother) That was the family that existed in the apartment we were born in at 2515 Amsterdam Ave.-which was at 184th St.-a long way from the Clinton St.address you have. Before living at 184th they lived around 81st.and Columbus Ave., still way uptown from Clinton St. It's possible they were related-we'd need to find more information. I still have not been able to get information from the cemetery where all of the DeVito's were buried(except my father)in Queens-Calvary Cemetery. Will have to take a trip there to check out how many are in the single family grave. Added to the above-I've understood that they came over carrying my father in as a baby in 1894-but I have no way to verify it until I can get into the ship registeries of the time. Thanks again..could be we end up as some kind of relatives!! Pete(Pio)Devito
