I do know a DeVito family, but can't tell if this info will help you.
My sister, Gertrude Johnson, married Anthony Joseph DeVito in 1942. They had one son whom they named Anthony Joseph, born in 1945 in Mexico city. We knew him as Tony Jo.
Tony Jo married Oneida Garcia and they were married about 1970 ?. They had two children, Milan DeVito (about 1975) and Talia (about 1980).
How old are you? Was your father married to your mother? And they had a divorce? Or were you a "Love Child?"
This Tony Jo is my nephew and would be 62 years old today.
I am not in contact with him, but thought this info might fit in with your story.
