I have located my ancestor in Ohio and am at a dead end. I wonder if he may be connected with some of the Devinney line you are researching. Stacy Deviney is found in Huntington Twp in Ross Co. Ohio in the 1840 census, page 372. He is also listed as Stacy Deveeney in a marriage to Isabella Finley in Ross Co. on September 29 1839. I also have been told that his name was James (could be James Stacy) and his grandson was William Stacy Devaney in TN. Stacy and Isabella are parents to Thomas Washington Devaney, William Stacy's father, who served in the IL infantry in the Civil War and then married and settled in TN after the war. I can find no good leads on Stacy Deviney in OH. Any connections?
