My gg grandfather, John William Devereux and g grandfather, Julien Sidney Devereux came to East Texas c. 1830, first in Montgomery Co. and eventually to Rusk Co. where they built Monte Verdi and where they are both buried in the small cemetary at Glenfawn, just down the hill from Monte Verdi. John William was born in 1769 in Fincastle Co. VA. Julien was born in 1805 in Hancock Co. Georgia. John had 4 other sons who stayed in Geogia and Alabama. I do have some additional information about them.
