I do not know if I can be of any help concerning,David Devereux, or Mark Devereux. But what I can tell you is that my g-g grandfather John H Devereux's family came from Marblehead,Mass.Where ther still remains a beach named after the Devereux family,it is the reason why Gen J H Devereux bought, and donated the painting (The Spirit Of 76)to the town of Marblehead,Mass, where it still hangs today. As to where the painting was painted. Will I know that it was one of many that was painted by Willard. Who worked out of Cleveland Ohio, where there also hangs a copy,at the Case Western Reserver. And yes that is his son Henry K Devereux,as the drummer in the painting.Hope that I could be of some help. Thomas
