Elliot, I am researching Grandma Moses (Anna Mary Robertson Moses), and see in her biography that she had an aunt, Margaret Devereaux. Margaret came over by ship with her brothers, Peter and John; and a sister, Bridget Devereaux, Anna Mary's grandma. They sailed from Ireland about 1836-1838, as near as Anna could tell. Bridget worked for a family in Waterford, NY until she married Gregory Shanahan, from county Waxford, Ireland. They met on the ship coming over to the USA. He worked in Pittstown, NY and lived there until his death about 1877. I am researching my Robertson line and am checking any resource I can find. I don't know if this will help or not, but the Devereauxs were orphans themselves. Maybe your Margret is this Margaret Devereaux. Ann
