Hello, Patricia!

My grandfather, James Joseph Dever, was born in Phila. sometime between 1890-1900, and his wife was Elizabeth O'Donnell. He had two sisters that I know of, Anna and Jane or Jenny--they were living near one of the prisons in Philadelphia in the late 1960s. He may have had other brothers and sisters as well. My father, also James J., was born in Westmont, NJ, in 1921, and his brother, Charles Hugh, is two or three years younger. I have heard that my grandfather's father and perhaps his grandfather as well were also named James Joseph Dever. My father always said that the family had come from Donegal, but I don't have any concrete information about that--sorry.

If you, or anyone else, has any information about my grandfather or his family, I'd appreciate it. My grandparents are buried in New Cathedral Cemetery in Phila.

Thank you!
Maureen Dever
