Post Script. I found on Giles Co. Tn rootsweb an article submitted by Margaret Nolen Nichol and on page 1 of "The Dever Family of Giles County, Tennessee" under the children for Charles W. Dever, b c1760 in Virginia was listed as the fourth child: "Margaret Dever,a born 1809 in Giles, Tennessee. She married John MCcormick." This is the John McCormick for which I am searching.
I found information regarding Margaret Dever in this time frame who married a Simon Johnson. Could Margaret have been married twice? This Margaret is a sister of my direct ancestor, William S. Dever and his first wife, Sarah L. Angus. The record found was when Margaret's mother, Mary Dever, widow, left a slave servant named Isabella, to Margaret Johnson, wife of Simon Johnson in April,1839. Margaret would be my gg aunt. Also, if the Margare Nichol who submitted this article would be interested, I have additional information for Charles Dever, son of William S. Dever, born 24 Apr, 1832 in Giles Co. TN. She listed 5 of the 7 children in her article. Left off were two youngest daughters, Mary Louise (Mae) and Margaret E. (Maggie). Maggie is my grandmother.
