Re: Daniel Dever

My Great Grandfather was born in Philadelphia in that area as far as I know. His name was Daniel Joseph Dever date of birth - 11/11/1868 taken from his own handwriting on his application for Australian Citizenship. He was a Seaman on the S.S. Sierra. He grew up in Manyunk Philadelphia.
Went to school at the Manyunk Parish School, was Catholic. His parents died when he was young and he was brought up by an Aunt who was a Mother Superior/Nun in the Catholic Church in Philadelphia. His fathers name was Patrick Dever and his mother was Mary Dougherty. I think there may have been a brother James and maybe more siblings we are not positively certain. I have a posting on the net so you could check the this forum. May be of some help.
