My father's family was all from LaRue Co., KY. His father (Leslie) was one of 9 children with a brother named George. Leslie was born in 1884. Sisters and brothers included Cora, Sally, Virgie, Anne, Herbert, and Mary Lynn, in addition to George and Leslie. Their parents were Daniel Aaron Dever and Mary Bowling (not sure of her last name spelling).
Ruth, could your George be Leslie's brother?
